During the EPJO lessons to inspire and support young people. These experts share their personal stories and offer valuable insights that contribute to awareness and behavioral change.
A diverse pool of experienced experts
The PFS has a broad and diverse team of experts by experience. These include ex-prisoners, former (drug) addicts, ex-homeless people, but also victims of human trafficking or forced prostitution, for example. Their personal experiences make them ideally suited to guide and motivate young people.
Former prisoners move on from our prison projects to the EPJO program or register directly with us. Within the EPJO, they work in the classroom for a maximum of three years. This program serves as a stepping stone to other work or social involvement.
Career advancement opportunities
Career development opportunities: the buddy project
Some experienced experts continue their efforts within the buddy project. In this project, they offer individual support to young people who could use extra help. As buddies, they act as role models and offer a listening ear, practical guidance, and mental support. This personal approach helps young people overcome obstacles and create new opportunities.
More than just the classroom
In addition to their work within the EPJO and the buddy project, experts by experience can also be deployed as guest speakers, at information meetings, or as advisors on prevention projects. Their stories and insights are invaluable in preventing social problems and promoting positive change.
